2. My top tips for staying in the Camp Site

Camping, as dreadful as the thought may seem, is arguably one of the best parts due to the people you meet, the memories made and alcohol consumed. I’m going to share my top tips for making the most of camping.

1.     Find a good camping spot

You must ensure you get the best spot to pitch your tent. This includes a space that is easy to find, not too close to toilets and not too far from the festival action. My advice is to try and pitch your tent near to a path and not in the middle of the field.

Additionally, you want to ensure that the place you pitch your tent has enough room outside for your seats – this is important for pre drinking, partying at night and when you wake up roasting in your tent in the morning and need air.

A key part of the experience is your camping “neighbours”. These tend to be the people who you pre-drink with and stay up with until the early hours of the morning. This is where lots of memories and friendships are created.

2.     Finding your tent

Following on from point 1, if your tent is pitched in the middle of all the tents you’re going to struggle when it comes to stumbling around in the dark trying to locate your tent –subsequently tripping over hundreds of tent poles in the process. I’ve seen many weird and wonderful ways of people making their tents stand out, the best one being a chair placed on top.

3.     The Toilets

The toilets …where do I begin, just thinking about those wooden huts brings me PTSD.

As I’m sure you can imagine the smell is up there with one of the worst things I have smelt especially towards the end of the weekend. Therefore, my top tip is putting tissues up your nose – think nosebleed style. Trust me this is the only way you can make it in and out alive.
