3. How to Sleep Well at a Festival
Sleeping at festivals – some would say this is a choice, others pass out with exhaustion before they make that choice. This post is for the sensible bunch who choose to sleep and how they can get the best sleep possible whilst in the middle of a noisy field.
To those who feel like sleeping means missing out Creamfields does not start until around 3/4pm, therefore even a wee nap in the morning is never a bad idea and means you are set up for the day ahead without missing out on any of the festival action.
My tips for how to sleep well:
1. Earplugs
Ultimately being at a festival means you are surrounded by loud music and lots of people. This is all fun and games until you are trying to get some sleep. Therefore, I would highly recommend bringing ear plugs. I have used ear plugs every year and they have worked wonders as I’ve managed to get several hours of sleep without being disturbed from all the hustle and bustle coming from the campsite.
Tip - bring soft earplugs so that you can sleep comfortably.
2. Eye mask
Sleeping in tent during summer means you will experience sunlight streaming into the tent from about 5am. Using an eye mask means the light is blocked out and prevents you being woken up from the natural light and this further allows you to get a good few hours in.
3. Stay Warm
If you are cold, you will constantly wake up throughout the night. Therefore, I suggest when going to sleep to layer up. You can do this by bringing cosy clothes such as joggers and a hoodie or PJ’s.
4. Take a comfortable sleeping bag, floor mat and pillow
